Stanley H. Pitts,

Stanley H. Pitts practices in the area of labor and employment law representing management. Before joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Pitts practiced employment discrimination law with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In over 25 years of practice he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants as lead counsel obtaining six and seven figure verdicts and summary dismissals for clients in federal and state courts. Mr. Pitts also has experience providing counseling to clients on compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination laws, federal contract compliance issues, family and medical leave act issues, affirmative action plans, waivers and releases, severance agreements, disability-related inquiries and medical examinations, religious and disability accommodation, reduction-in-force events, noncompetition agreements, and termination decisions.
Mr. Pitts is also active in the legal community serving as a member of the board of directors of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, a hearing panelist for the State Bar of Michigan's Attorney Discipline Board, a member of the State Bar of Michigan's Ethics Committee, a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, the Wolverine Bar Association, and the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources. He is also involved in the local community serving as a member of the board of directors for the Black United Fund of Michigan and has made numerous presentations on various aspects of employment law before such entities as the EEOC, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), and the American Bar Association. Mr. Pitts is a graduate of Wayne State University, where he received both his undergraduate and law degrees.
